Why Does Marie Claire Help Gretchen Voss Write
As a stretch of time reader of Jessica Claire magazine, I was many depressed to read Gretchen Voss hitting Pastor Melissa Scott in any recent issue. I'd always thought Jessica Claire celebrated the individuality of females, and our versatility to both take good care of ourselves and implement what we want with these careers. This article am out of sync in what Marie Claire purports to always be, I found it hard to trust that one of the most popular reads could have made it possible for something like this.
This particular blog post starts off with Gretchen Voss actively playing the role of a self-righteous preacher who basically condemns Preacher Melissa Scott to nightmare because Scott "allegedly" posed nude when she had been younger. Of course Scott in no way confirms nor declines the accusation, but yet Voss acts as if that an open and finished case and promptly jumps to the conclusion that Scott is of the ilk as Swaggert and Bakker.
I saw it to shake my personal head in speculate, because in one other article, Voss celebrates her own freedom of choice for you to terminate her pregnancy. Voss's position on that issue is hardly that which right-wingers would warm up to successfully. But then she flip-flops facing Scott, and in a complete role-reversal, crawls in bed with the Stacee Fundamentalists and starts railing at Pastor Melissa Scott (with respect to alleged ast sins? worse in comparison with any right-wing zealot. I've understand Christian Fundamentalists who website about exactly the same stuff that Gretchen was saying. In reality, it almost may appear to be Gretchen Voss took the story specifically off the Fundamentalist Blog sites. The maxim goes Pastor Scott shouldn't be permitted to preach because she has a woman; because she gets not righteous, because of the girl's alleged past, etcetera. These blogs made me sick, and Gretchen copycat report makes me in fact sicker.
The idea of Voss's article usually Pastor Scott is unsuitable for ministry because your lady "reportedly" posed nude some twenty years ago. I am dumbfounded how Jessica Claire (with everything I thought this stood for) could release such a punitive, accusatory, self-righteous, (plus, judgmental and intolerant) piece of writing as this.
Voss definitely has it in for Scott this particular attack piece. It's possible that Gretchen is just a jealous, catty lady, who still holds onto the outdated view that women can be simultaneously beautiful and shrewd, because I unable as to determining all other motive for penning this article. Melissa Scott can be described as highly intelligent lovely women. Just listen to her for one hour in PastorMelissaScott.com and find out on your own. But we pick up nothing about her own brain-power in any part of Voss's short article. All she refers to is Scott's hair, your ex doe-eyed looks, how this lady cooes... Ie watched Pastor Scott live and on Tv shows and Ie never witnessed any of these ex-kitten?antics that Voss accuses her of. Pretty much any woman who has truly tried to slug it out on the job with a bunch of gentlemen has had to endure demeaning, dismissive comments like this. Unfavorable enough when it comes out of Neanderthal males, but even worse when it comes from a partner like Voss who needs to know better.
Marie Claire informs us that we can be amazing, we can be shrewd, and we can have the career of our pick. Gretchen Voss's article expresses not any of that. It is NOT strengthening for women. It is catty, superficial, and preaches the exact opposing values the magazine purports to put forth. I'm nevertheless at a loss as to why it again ever went to screen-print? And frankly, Simply put i don understand why Jessica Claire Magazine allows Gretchen Voss to put in writing for them.
